This year marks a decade for Alfonso Cortina as a winemaker.
The name of Alfonso Cortina, a 72-year-old from Madrid with an overwhelming curriculum: industrial engineer and economist; he has always been linked to large corporations . He began his professional career at the Bank of Vizcaya. Later he was director of administration of Inmobiliaria Bancaya, and CEO of Hispano Hipotecario of the Banco Hispano Americano Group, becoming vice president of the entity and chairman of Sociedad de Tasación, the same Position that occupied in Portland Valderrivas. In 1996 he became president of Repsol, where he stayed until 2004. Today, Mr Cortina devoted to managing its heritage and the winery Vallegarcía, which launched in 2006 in the Montes de Toledo. The project started in 1993, when he decided make a dream come true: planting a vineyard on his estate.
